Boat Dive - Two Tanks - South Sound Dock Nick Matthews
(Nick Matthews)

Changed to a 2 tanker by request

The wind looks as though it may pick up again, so I expect we'll be going from South Sound dock.

from Susan Harris (24 Feb 2010)
What is it with all these 1 tank dives...?  The weather looks fantastic for Sunday so I think I'll go to East End...you should be ashamed to call yourselves BS-AC, you're a load of wimps.
from Sharon Whitmore (25 Feb 2010)

Sue, ask Peter to do a 2 tank if you want them, I am sure he will oblige.

from Peter Ogden (25 Feb 2010)
Peter is off island this weekend
from David Hirschowitz (26 Feb 2010)
I would also prefer a 2 tanker although I'm game anyway. I haven't been on the boat for so long that I hope we get enough people
from Amanda Briggs (27 Feb 2010)
I don't mind doing a surface watch if you'd like to make this one a 2 tanker.  The weather looks great!
from Nick Matthews (27 Feb 2010)
I've got dodgy sinuses at the moment, so I'm happy to stay topside so EVERYONE can do 2 dives.
from Susan Harris (27 Feb 2010)
You are a star Nick! I've already planned to go to Ocean Frontiers so have a good morning everyone!

Boat Dive - One Tank - Red Bay Dock
Divesite 1: Pedro reef
Sharon Whitmore
(Nick Matthews)
Janice and Phil tackling the fishline mess Phil untangle lengths of fishing line Sharon showing her bootie Fish line every where Janice showing how to deal with the fish lines Phil dragging a load of line back to the boat

Pedros Reef Clean Up. Please bring scissors and something to collect fishing line up with. Its a mess down there!

And indeed it was a mess. As the weather was good we had decided on short notice to do a litttle clean up Nick volunteerd for boat and surface duties (big thanks for that). Janice, Sharon, Phil and Jack went down to the clif face of Pedro and started collecting fish lines. All in all we collected several hunderd feet of line and a couple of pounds of lead.

Unfortunately we still had the feeling we only made a small scratch and did not even reach the worst areas. We definitely need to go back when we can, hopefully with more divers to get the rest.

Besides a lot of small lines and hooks, we even found a couple of 3-4 inch hooks, and we were left wondering what those fishermen were hoping to catch. Speaking of the fishermen, if they would have clue about the topography of the site, it should be no suprise that they lose so many lines as it is almost unavoidable to get your hooks snagged on the reef.
