Swells precluded going south, so we headed up Seven Mile towards Slaughterhouse Wall, where there is small tunnel - always a winner with Peter.  Unfortunately there was no buoy so we continued north in increasingly large swells - thankfully calmer once we rounded NW Point, so we decided to see what it was like at Hepp's Wall.  There was no current whatsoever and we all had a lovely dive, encountering the usual suspects & notwithstanding one of Sue's guest's leaks.  Moving inshore we had another lovely dive, spotting a lionfish, before the very interesting trip back against the swells.

Nick after dive at Stoney Cove.JPG P1010825.JPG P1010826.JPG

Hi all.  I couldn't resist the lure of the water, so teamed up with BSAC 1105 for a trip up to Stoney Cove (an old stone quarry in Leicestershire, for  those who are lucky enough not to have been).  Air temp was 1 degree C (around 34F) and water was 4 degrees C.  Pictures attached.

Saw a couple of wrecks (tugboats) plus jeep, helicopter, coach and half a plane.  And 3 fish!  Viz was v good at about 5 metres.  Not too cold after 35 minute dive but my drysuit did not live up to its name!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL - Alison and I will see you soon.

Nick
